Regarding the actual Iboga ceremony — the journey itself — it is wise not to form or hold expectations about what you will see, feel or experience. Iboga always knows what we need, and provides the perfect experience for each of us.
Because we have all been through different life experiences, the Iboga journey will never be the same for all. Everyone needs something unique, and needs to experience it in a different way. This can mean visions, no visions, insights, no insights, physical discomfort, blissful comfort, and everything in between.
We provide two Iboga ceremonies during an 8-day retreat. The first journey is commonly experienced as a physical cleanse — Iboga clearing out physical, mental and emotional blocks and toxicity. Once the mind, body and spirit are cleansed in this way, the second ceremony is often more of a deep dive into self; a psycho-spiritual journey to the soul.
Throughout the 8-day retreat, it is common to feel both ups and downs. It’s helpful to look at Iboga like this: the medicine has cleared out an entire lifetime of trauma, thought/behavioral patterning, and emotional/physical unease.
An entire lifetime.
Now try to imagine how it would feel to process all of that in eight days. It’s a lot. It’s intense. And it’s constantly changing. You may feel waves of joy, sadness, grief, self-doubt, self-love — but all of them are temporary. You move through many layers of healing. How you feel on day three of the retreat will be very different than how you feel on day eight. Slowly, as you process more healing each day, you will come into a peaceful, grounded, balanced place.
